We have received notice from several other people that they are bringing
tack to this sale, so it looks like a very nice selection of tack and carts for the 2017 Mid-West Hackney Fall Sale.
We look forward to seeing you all at the sale and would like to remind everyone that all trailers need to be parked down in
Happy Hollow which is right below the Livestock Center Arena to the south. We also have some nice items already donated
for the silent auction and ask anyone that would like to donate to bring their items to the sale. We will be checking in tack
on Friday and remember that there is a general membership meeting on Friday evening at 6 pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
For those of you that are figuring on bringing ponies and/or horses to the sale that are not in the sale, there is
a charge of $50.00 per stall, payable to the sale office. This has been an on-going problem with people bringing animals
and not paying and Mid-West gets stuck for the clean up bill. We will be padlocking stalls that have animals not involved
with the sale until payment is made. If you decide you are going to try to "hide" something in another barn
or another aisle that we are not using for the sale and Mid-West gets stuck with the cost of the entire building (which
is the policy of the Illinois State Fairgrounds--one animal or a full barn, you pay the cost for the entire barn plus clean
up costs), you will be paying that amount. We are tired of getting stuck with these costs--last year's sale had 4 ponies
that no one paid for the cost of the stalls, you will be paying this year.
We will be listing the consignments for the 2017 Mid-West Hackney Fall Sale on this page.
Please keep checking back as new items or pony consignments will be added as they come in.
If you would like to make phone
bids, please contact Andrew Lamps at 815-712-7702 or Scott Seils at 847-951-4405.
There will be a membership meeting in the Livestock Center Arena at 6 pm on Friday, October
20th. We will be holding election for the Mid-West Hackney board and up for re-election are Jerry Elmer, Bill Sanders,
Andrew Lamps and Darlene Horner. If you are interested in running for the board, please let a board member know so we can
include your name on the ballot and we will take nominations from the floor at the meeting. All are welcome to attend.
We are expecting a consignment of pony equipment from Shale Hill Stable, Jan and Jerry McGlaughlin, including carts and misc.
